THE LAND OF THE LIVING//

So, Angie and I spent the last 2 days between the bed and the bathroom with the flu.  It was awful.

I don’t do well with stomach bugs.  Never have.  Likely never will.  There were honestly moments where I thought (no exaggeration) that I thought the grip of death was near.  Then a friend said that knew I was sick sent me this in an email: “In my experience tere is thinking your sickness might kill you, and then the fear that it won’t and the pain will continue forever.” That would be worse.

But, even more awful… Isaac had it a few days earlier and one overlapping day.  We couldn’t even hold him on Tuesday because we were so gone.

Thank GOD grandparents live close and could take him as his “getting better” Tuesday was our worst of it.  Them keeping him over night and through the day on Wednesday let us sleep.  Which is exactly what we needed.

So, the moral(s) of the story:

1.  Take your vitamins.
2.  It takes a village to raise a child.
3.  Let people help you.
4.  Live near people you love (and that love you).
5.  If you  don’t live near people you love, find some.

And, now back to the land of the living.
