Every Easter that Angie and I have known each other, we’ve had “transplants” over for Easter dinner. It’s been one of the best parts of our Easter day every year to open our home for people who don’t travel to families’ for the holiday. These are 3 couples that are part of our chosen family. We colored eggs after a dinner that would have made the queen jealous.
It’s taken a couple of days for me to process everything that happened on Easter. As one of the busiest days in the calendar of a church worker, sometimes it’s kind of a blur. We had a HUGE morning at Crosspoint. The historical/intellectual perspective of how to believe in Jesus death and resurrection followed by stories of hope from people who could have easily given up all made for a HUGELY emotional morning. But, ultimately I get stuck on the chosen aspect of the morning.
These are the videos that we respectively opened and wrapped our morning with at Crosspoint on Easter Sunday.
OPENER
CLOSER
GOD had a choice to wipe the slate clean after the Garden and start over.
He didn’t.
Jesus had a choice to bail on GOD’s redemption plan.
He didn’t.
There’s no reason that we should be chosen to be in relationship with GOD.
We are.
Even through our issues and dealing with our crap that we create.
We’re accepted.
We are chosen.
