For everyone tracking the days… today is the REAL Day 5. Wednesday would have been DAY 0 not DAY 1… Math was never my strong suit.
I’m realizing how fortunate we are that this has been such a smooth process in the NICU (knocking on wood). Every day we’ve been able to list progression over back-stepping. We had one little set back on Saturday, going back on the CPAP from the HI-FLOW, but that’s it! GOD has been, is, and will continue to be good to this little one!
Today is no different.
Isaac is now on the lowest form of O2 support possible … it’s exactly like the nasal cannula (tube) seen in the movies.
He’s done with photo therapy for jaundice & in a normal crib.
He’s maintaining his body temp.
And, he’s poopin’ & peein’ just like the rest of us … all on his own.
So, we have 3 major things that need to happen before we can come home:
1. He needs to be off O2.
2. He needs to be taking all of his feedings by bottle (his first is in a few hours).
3. He needs to be gaining weight (unlike his mom and dad).
There are your prayer points. Keep it up! It’s working!
We’ll see you all soon.

PS – And, yes: this was his first “pound it.”
