Anyone that knows me, knows that there are few people out there with more extraverted tendencies than myself… I know a couple, but not many. I can only think of 2 after giving it some thought…
I like noise. I don’t like to sit still. I HAVE to be going somewhere.
I’m the guy that talks to fill the silence.
But, recently, I’ve been in some pretty deep conversations with people and realizing that I have less to say now. I’m not waiting for the punctuation at the end of a sentence to jump in and be the next to speak.
It’s nice. I’m hearing more. Listening to what’s being said.
My agenda isn’t as much the topic anymore.
It’s out of this quietness that I find myself reflecting on things like post from last week. Where I realize I still carry guilt. Where I realize the brilliance of grace and how I need it. I want it. Can’t live without it. It’s these times where I realize the whisper is just as important as the thunder.
What’s the Whisperer telling you?
The Whisperer is telling me to listen.
To enjoy peace and grace.
To know the joy that comes from forgiveness.
To be a part of the re-creating work that’s happening in our world.
To love and be loved.
It’s a good time to hear.
