JUST THINKING//

If you  didn’t know, I’m have another blog… it’s called ISAAC365.
It’s a daily photo of my son.
It looks like this:

Picture 1I know, I know…
“Another one of those ‘pictures of your kids’ blogs.”
NO!
Well, Yes.  But, there’s a reason.

About 14 months ago, we were told that the only way we could have kids is by a miracle of Biblical proportions.
And, it happened.
Just not the way we figured.  But, it turned out to be so much greater than we could have expected.

Right now at Crosspoint, we’re in the middle of a series on moving from Entitlement (when we think we’re owed something) to Partnership (when we work together toward something) called GIMME.  I’m not gonna lie.  14 months ago, I went through the “it’s not fair” stage that @curt_walters has been speaking against the last 2 weeks.  Now, I can’t believe the grace that’s been shown in the such a short amount of time…

Sunday he also spoke of how entitlement poisons our relationships… how every relationship has irreconcilable differences and how we deal with them is what deems success in relationships and marriage.

Last night Angie and I tried to come up with some of our irreconcilable differences after hearing Curt’s teaching.  Here are a few:

How we drive differently.
How I leave empty glasses all over my desk, the night stand, the end table, the kitchen counter, etc.
I’m sure our views on the pacifier would fit here (I’m pro… she’s against).

Then she stopped the conversation and said, “I think that’s why we have a good marriage… because we don’t focus on them.”

I agreed.
And it was over.

I think that’s how GOD wants it.
For us to recognize the grace and joy in life.
For us to not focus on the difficulties.
For us to enjoy the differences.

So, when Angie and I aren’t communicating to the best of our abilities, I need to be thankful that she said, yes.

And, when I feel guilty that I missed a day of pictures for Isaac (see above photo), I need to not kick myself too hard.  I need to be grateful that I have the subject of the pictures.

Thank GOD for my family.
