So, it was pointed out by my friend Zach that I haven’t posted anything in over two weeks. His blog was zachfretz.wordpress.com… the page says deleted by user. Yes, I’m throwing him under the bus for throwing me under it too. Misery loves company.
Here’s the story: Technology is supposed to help not hinder. Well, I can usually find a loophole for that statement. I don’t know why. I’m tech savvy. But, from time to time, it hinders me. I think it’s because my brain works so fast. Yeah, that’s it. That’s what I’m telling myself. A couple of months ago I installed the newest operating system on my Lime Green Mac. (I’m amidst a torrid love affair with this color right now). Well, Limey did not like it. I ended up having to manually remove everything from my computer, wipe the hard drive and start over with the previous “liked” version of the OS. Now, Limey’s back up and running with no issues.
There was a few day period, however where I had no form of electronic capabilities away from my phone. It was kind of annoying but ultimately nice to unplug for a few days. So, the last 2 weeks have been slowly adding previously lived in programs like Tweetdeck, GarageBand, and Reason back on as needed. And, we’re now back up running smoother than ever.
I noticed something. I was a lot more calm when I didn’t have access. I had an “out.”
“Sorry, man. I didn’t get that email.” Or, “Now I have not seen your myspace page” (as if anyone still uses it).
It was nice. I noticed that I found myself praying more. Working smarter not harder and focusing on my family more. I didn’t Tweet as much. I clearly didn’t blog. The rest was great.
Now it’s this week. Easter week. 4 videos on tap taping and editing for Crosspoint worship gatherings this weekend. Helping a friend shoot her wedding video. 2 design projects on the table. But, tonight I’ll be unplugged. With friends and family for our community group. And, then 24.
What could be better? Dessert and discussion with friends then watching Jack Bauer kill terrorists smuggling nuclear rods into NYC! It’s going to be a great night!

Reading your blog at work and have now wasted at least 20 minutes trying to figure out what is better than dessert, friends, and Jack Bauer killing terrorists. Haven’t come up with anything yet.
