Every year at Christmas while I was in junior high and high school, my grandparents would send me a $50 savings bond.  I remember being super annoyed that I couldn’t use it at that moment… I probably would have used it to buy comic books or paints or something like that.  Well, I found out a month ago that my camera was starting to crap out.  The motor that powers the mirror to expose the photos was starting to get sluggish resulting in poorly exposed pics, a dark shadow on the bottom of every photo, and overall annoyance from the photographer.  Then 2 weeks ago, I found all of these savings bonds from my grandparents.

And a new Canon 50D was ordered.  Here are a few pics to prove it works.

Isaac is in Wheaton with his grandparents this week.  They’re all having a GRAND time.  But, his mother and I aren’t sure exactly what to do with all the free time.  He left on Friday last week.  The camera came about 30 minutes after he left with his Aunt Jen on the road trip.  So, this is the best I could do to take a picture of him right away.

So, we went out for breakfast on Saturday.

… but just one.

The other 2 things I can’t go anywhere without… music and my iPhone.  I’m not sure how I survived before the iPhone.  Music IN the phone!  BRILLIANT.  And, by the way… I’m totally addicted to the Black Keys right now.  You should be, too.
